Cleaning
Skim the surface. Empty the skimmer and pump baskets. Brush the walls, steps, benches and the waterline tile, because that is where algae and scale begin. Vacuum the floor, not just stir the debris around.
If a service is at your pool for five minutes, it is not doing all of this.
Chemistry
Test chlorine, pH, alkalinity, stabilizer and, on salt pools, salt level. Then add what the pool needs for the week ahead in the amounts it actually needs, not a standard dose.
Chemical-only service, where someone tests and doses without cleaning, is not weekly pool service. Blue Dolphin Pools does not offer it for that reason.
Inspection
Look at the pump, filter pressure, skimmer, salt cell and visible plumbing for anything trending wrong. A pump that sounds different or a pressure gauge that is climbing gets flagged before it becomes an emergency.
This is the part most services skip and the part that saves owners the most money over time.
Documentation
A photo of the pool at the end of the visit, the task checklist, the chemistry readings, the chemicals added and any notes. That goes to your inbox every week.
It proves the visit happened, gives you a chemistry history and means you never wonder what happened at your pool while you were at work.
Key Takeaways
- Cleaning means skim, brush, vacuum and empty baskets every visit.
- Chemistry is tested and dosed for the week ahead.
- Equipment inspection catches problems early.
- You should get a photo and report after every visit.
